You’re not the only one; I have this issue as well, and would love
find a solution. I suspect it is more a problem with Ubuntu’s X server
environment than Scite however.
I have the issue with Shift+F2 and Shift+F3 in Scite, running under
Ice WM (window manager) in Ubuntu 12.04 “Precise”, and I did not have
the issue with their previous LTS version (10.04 “Lucid”). I also have
Scite on Arch Linux running the Openbox window manager. I do not have
any issues with that, either running the local Arch Scite package or
the Ubuntu one over SSH. But I _do_ have the issue running Arch’s
Scite package over SSH from Ubuntu’s X server.
Also I have a similar issue with the F2 key in Tux Commander, and
again only when running under Ubuntu’s X server. So that’s why I
suspect Ubuntu’s X server or window manager rather than Scite itself.
