Dear all,
I just learnt about SciRate and have been playing with it. It looks
good and serves a good purpose. The commenting will be very useful
for promoting discussion if we can get enough people on it. We've
built another front end for the arXiv
https://arxiv.lateral.io
which focuses on exploration -- it relates the articles to one another
using some machine learning magic. Our projects, though using the
same corpus, serve orthogonal purposes, it seems. Perhaps we could
learn something from one another?
I'd very much like to have a chat with any of you about your project
and your experiences in raising awareness of it, since none of these
tools are useful without users. It would also be interesting to
discuss how (and where) we could get more content to make them even
more useful.
Steven, I don't think we've ever met, but I myself used to be at
Sydney in the Maths department (I did my PhD with Gus Lehrer and Alex
Molev). I left academia about three years ago and now have a little
startup in Berlin.
It would be nice to here from any of you, all the best
Benjamin
