La Bouche de Jean-Pierre (1996) is the first short feature film by HadÅihaliloviÄ after she completed her graduation project. The film explores the traumatic experiences of a young girl named Mimi (Sandra Sammartino), who witnesses her mother's suicide attempt by overdosing on pills. Mimi is then forced to move in with her aunt (Denise Aron-Schropfer), who lives with a man called Jean-Pierre (Michel Trillot). Jean-Pierre sexually abuses Mimi and makes her life miserable. The film ends with a disturbing scene of Mimi swallowing sleeping pills in an attempt to emulate her mother and escape from her abusive situation.[3]
