Hello,

I got the following error message while trying to install and set up a SCION VM.

Could you help me to figure out what is the issue and how to fix it ?

Sincerely,

Hi,

Can you provide us with more details? Which platform did you run this on? Which version of Virtualbox and Vagrant are you using?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I am trying to run SCIONLabVM using an Ubuntu 16.04.3 virtual machine running on Virtualbox 5.2.6 r120293 hosted by Windows 10 platform.

Where I am using Virtualbox 5.0.40_Ubuntu and Vagrant 2.0.0.

Hi Merlec

Is my understanding correct that you are trying to install the SCIONLab VM inside another VM running under Windows? It seems to me that your Virtualbox installation under Windows does not support this out-of-the box and this is also not officially supported by SCION.

Could you try to simply install Vagrant under Windows and set up the SCIONLab VM directly?

Best
Markus

That's right dear Markus L.

Let's me try that on Windows as you mention. If it doesn't work I will also try to install Ubuntu on the physical computer and then try to set up and run SCIONLab VM on that.

That you !

Thank you for your support.

I successfully installed and run SCIONLab VM on a virtual machine running on Virtualbox hosted by a physical PC with Windows 10.
So, now it is time for me to study more deeply and try to enjoy the SCION technology. I am just a beginner hoping to receive help from the community.

Sincerely,

Merlec M.
