I know just what you are seeing but I can look through my ss and just
continuing what I am doing. It can really drive you crazy if you let
it. Sometimes watching tv I can tell it is coming on because my vision
seems funny. So I close my eyes and I can see the spot that will soon
open up and then it does. Yes either side or the other then get
bigger until it goes up ,up and away. It is so hard to explain to
someone who has never had this. Tomorrow back to eye doctor and will
tell him how I found this site and many who are having this
experience. Last year he said it was floaters but we diffently have
the name for it. I went to a vasculer doctor whom said a blockage in
your neck may cause this but I found out that I do not have that so
back to just accepting what is happening. Keep in touch!

I have floaters (one) as well as SS - they are NOT the same thing! Not
even close! Also, the eye doctor is able to see your floaters (if you
have any) but he cannot see our SS. I can't believe any doctor would
suggest they are the same thing. I also had 'flashes' for several years
after the floater appeared but they gradually lessoned and now I rarely
ever have any (the doctor correctly predicted this would happen).

Yes, isn't it reassuring to be able to read others descriptions of their
SS, and to know (first hand) that you are not alone in this experience!
