to Scintillating Scotoma
Well here's the strategy
1) get an episode of S/S [instant]
2) search web for 'scotoma' [3 minutes]
3) find Edith's original sites and read three long sets of posts on S/
S [45 minutes]
4) join this Google Group [5minutes]
Result -- S/S has disappeared. Has Edith found the cure???
Seriously I have had S/S for many years, a long series in my 30s,
which then stopped for quite a long time. My ophthomologist called
them "atypical migraines," so I didn't worry about them.
They reappeared recently -- in my late 50s. I had one this morning
for the first time in several months, and decided to search the web.
This phenomenon--a single post by Edith turning into a broad community
is amazing. What was life like before the internet? I can barely
remember.
