The most dangrous case scenario

Hey, just wondering what the worst case scenarion of scintillating scotoma is.. I read somewhere it could lead to permanent blindness but I'm not so sure about it.. I haven't visited any doctor yet but I'm pretty sure I have it because the images of it are almost identical tk the disturbances I get in my sight sometimes.
