That is fantastic, thanks for sharing your technique!
Unfortunately, that has never worked for me. I have had success stopping one "from expanding" (I like your terminology) by popping a migrelief. I like your way better, it is totally natural and free. In any case, once that little scintillating crescent shows up on the side of my field of vision, I know I have to do something to try to stop it, otherwise I'll be blinded for about 10 to 20 minutes and feel wiped out for a few hours or days afterwards.

I have had some success also by placing an ice pack on the back of my neck at the base of my head. Don't ask me why that works.
