Behaviour seems correct to me. This issue needs an explanation of why you see the result as a problem.

I tried testing with wscite541 and the problem is still there.

The brace at the end of the is expression is in style SCE_CSS_VALUE which does not match the later brace which is in style SCE_CSS_OPERATOR.
