Dear All,

It has been 69 years since India got its independence. This 15th of August, India will celebrate its 69th Independence Day. It is a day when we have to remind us of the hardships taken by our brave freedom fighters and also celebrate our unity in cultural diversity.

DESI has been celebrating India’s Independence Day at the University of Maryland College Park for the past 11 years. This year too, keeping our tradition, we have organized an Independence Day event to celebrate our rich and diverse culture. The following is a brief schedule of the program:

Date: Saturday, 15th August 2015

Venue: Nyumburu Cultural center

5.00pm @ Nyumburu Amphitheater: Flag Hoisting

5.45pm onwards @ Nyumburu Cultural Center: Colorful Indian Cultural program

Delicious Indian snacks will be served after the event!

We hope that you will make use of this opportunity to reconnect with India and Indians.

Make sure you dressed in your best attire. There is a prize for "Best ethnically dressed male and female"

This event is FREE and OPEN TO ALL. Invite your friends and family.

Kindly find the attached flyer with this email.

Jai Hind,

DESI team
