I'm confused about the effect of the trace keyword for bvp_solver.solve. It does not seem to generate any text output. How do I look at the results of the trace?

Hmm, it's been a while since I've used bvp_solver, but I recall that it would print out trace results to stdout.
2 is for full verbosity, what level are you using?

It turns out that I was using ipython notebook, and the trace output does not appear there. When I ran the code in the ipython shell, the trace output did appear.

More info: The trace does not appear in standard output in the notebook window, but it does appear in the terminal window where the notebook server is running.  Don't know why I didn't notice that earlier!
