One technical issue: the website does not support HTTPS. I haven't completed the whole process, but I think that's a no-go when it comes to online shopping and payment.

Getting a valid certificate is actually very easy and does not cost any money: https://letsencrypt.org/

hi thanks for mentioning this. the store is embedded javascript  through  ecwid.  i assume this is SSL-ed somehow, but i did not check. the site itself is not  https. 

* if the store is not ssl'd i need to fix ASAP. that is not unusable.  

* it would also be nice to get the site https. i will look into this. thanks for the link.
