Movie recommendation algorithm from Ng's coursera course

Hi everybody,
I am interested in a recommendation algorithm Andrew Ng mentions in his coursera course on ML.(Week 9) https://class.coursera.org/ml-004/lecture
The algorithm works with the ratings from users and calculates 'ingredients'-parameters the films are made up of in a backward-forward manner to impute the unknown ratings.
As I did not get a name for this algorithm in his lecture I was wondering if you knew it and could tell me if it was implemented in Crab.
