Hello Everyone,

It currently seems as if the Sci-Java maven repository hosts seems to be down.

If anyone can please address this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

To give more context to the problem here is the warning/error maven throws when attempting to fetch a dependency contained within the Sci-Java repository.

[WARNING] net.minidev:json-smart/maven-metadata.xml failed to transfer from https://maven.scijava.org/content/groups/public during a previous attempt. This failure was cached in the local repository and resolution will not be reattempted until the update interval of scijava.public has elapsed or updates are forced. Original error: Could not transfer metadata net.minidev:json-smart/maven-metadata.xml from/to scijava.public (https://maven.scijava.org/content/groups/public): Connect to maven.scijava.org:443 [maven.scijava.org/144.92.48.196] failed: Read timed out

Hi Ezequiel,

A key part of that error message is:

> This failure was cached in the local repository and resolution will
> not be reattempted until the update interval of scijava.public has
> elapsed or updates are forced.

Try running with the -U flag to mvn, to force a recheck.

Of course you're right that maven.scijava.org did not respond appropriately at least once ("failed: Read timed out"), but I checked just now and maven.scijava.org is working OK for me at the moment, so hopefully the -U flag will alleviate your issue.

The reliability of maven.scijava.org has been a bit less lately, and there are several potential reasons for that, which I am planning to investigate in coming days. Unless the reliability gets so bad that it becomes more urgent, of course.

Regards,
Curtis
