I just found out that there will be a TV series from CW called Riverdale coming in 2017. I've been a Archie Comics fan all my life. I've watched all the cartoons and seen the live action versions. Even the one that had the gang 10 years or so after High School.
I don't believe in saying a show, movie, book, or whatever is bad before it comes out. From what I've read, I'm not overly excited about it. To me, the Archie Comics Universe has always been the positive, the book you feel better reading after having a bad time.
We've had TV shows that were very Archie Comics. In the 1950s it was Dobie Gillis. In the 1980s there was Saved By The Bell. They both had the spirit of Archie and the gang. The new show is on The CW and has Luke Perry as Archie's Dad. The CW has done great with other comic book inspired shows, so I will hold judgment until it comes out.
