Dear all,

please vote for a day and time to meet at https://www.when2meet.com/?33002028-2srLL  !
We close the poll next Wednesday, 19th November, so we can decide on the new day and time well in advance.
If you have any further comments about your availability, we're happy to hear from you in other ways as well.
Thanks to everyone who already voted!

Looking forward to seeing everyone in December someday ;-)
Sophie

Dear all,

there is a result for the new date and time for SIG SSLA meetings: It is the same day and time as we are having right now, Fridays 4pm CET!
We are sorry we could not find a perfect time slot for everybody. Hopefully something may change in your schedule - and/or we will have a new poll in spring next year, so maybe then things look differently

Therefore our next meeting will take place 5th Dec. 16:00–17:00 CET (15:00–16:00 GMT / 14:00–15:00 UTC). The link will be send around in time.

We have also decided that the first meeting of 2026 will take place on the 9th of January (not 2nd Jan as would be in schedule).

Looking forward to seeing everyone who voted for Fridays to continue next week! ;-)

Sophie

Dear all,

as to our poll, our next meeting takes place this Friday, 5th Dec, 4 pm CET ( (3 pm GMT / 2 pm UTC) as usual.
We will have a regular meeting, updating each other on interesting new papers, new models, new developments in the area of scripting languages in archaeology. I suggest we also pick up Zack's idea of a maintainathon and plan it a bit further for next year.

I also want to highlight Matteo Tomasini's Journal Club  in Archaeology, Genetics, and Culture, which will take place this Friday as well. It starts at 2 pm CET (1 pm GMT, 3 pm EET). They will discuss Tournebize & Chikhi (2025), Ignoring population structure in hominin evolutionary models can lead to the inference of spurious admixture events (Nature Ecology & Evolution.https://doi.org/10.1038/s41559-024-02591-6) . The meeting will take place online as well: https://gu-se.zoom.us/my/matteotomasini.

I hope you're all having a good start into the pre-Xmas time and am looking forward to the meeting!
All the best,
Sophie
