Dear all,
our next SIG Scientific Scripting Languages in Archaeology meeting will take place on Friday, 6 February 2026, 16:00–17:00 CET.
This meeting will be a mix of (1) a short debrief of the Maintainathon week and (2) planning our SIG activities for 2026, including potential invited talks, and some small-but-useful community updates.
Planned agenda
- Maintainathon debrief (12–16 January 2026): what worked well, what we should improve next time, and quick highlights we want to keep visible
- SIG programme 2026: how many invited talks we want this year (proposal: up to ~4), and how we schedule them
- Invited speakers: update on outreach to the speakers we brainstormed last time
- Map of Computational Archaeology Tutorials: quick status check + call for updates (last entries are from 2024 — please add anything new you know!)
- SIG board elections: elections are due — announcement and call for volunteers / nominations (we won’t run the election in this meeting yet; aim is to prepare for the next one)
- Round table: short “what are you currently working on?” updates (totally optional, 1–2 minutes each)
- Open discussion
