Dear all,

 

I would like to inform you that at CIRSA - Interdepartmental Research Center for Environmental Sciences of the University of Bologna, two scholarships are available for post-graduate research activities of 12 months each, starting from October 1, 2024.

 

1) Study of Adriatic benthic communities

Tutor Prof. Massimo Ponti

 

For master's graduates who possibly have:

• experience in benthic community monitoring methods

• experience in identifying macrobenthic organisms

• experience in using software for data analysis (e.g., PRIMER, PERMANOVA+ for PRIMER and R) and cartography (e.g., QGIS)

• good diving and nautical experience

• experience in underwater photography

• good knowledge of English, excellent communication and dissemination skills, ability to work in a group as well as independently

2) Ecotoxicity of marine sediments

Tutor Prof. Andrea Pasteris

 

For bachelor's and master's degree graduates who possibly have:

• experience in acclimatization and laboratory maintenance of aquatic invertebrates and unicellular algae;

• experience in performing toxicity tests on water and sediments, using aquatic invertebrates and unicellular algae;

• experience in performing chemical analyses on water and sediments;

• knowledge of protocols, guidelines, regulations relevant to ecotoxicity tests, in particular used as a tool for monitoring and evaluating marine sediments;

• experience in using software for data analysis (e.g., PRIMER, PERMANOVA+ for PRIMER and R) and cartography (e.g., QGIS);

• good knowledge of English, excellent communication and dissemination skills, ability to work in a group as well as independently.
