There's a fair amount of scientific video on the Internet and most of
it is available free. The costs are borne by institutions
(universities, the Internet Archive) and to a lesser extent foundations
(the Hearst Foundation funds the Mathematical Sciences Research
Institute Video Archive). On Google video there are free classroom
lectures as well as pay-per-download documentaries. The Science Daily
News is supported by advertising. What other business models are being
tried? What would scientists like beyond simply sharing clips?
