Hi! I understand what it means to calibrate a salinometer, but I don't understand how to create a graph of a calibration curve, or what a calibration curve is.

Any help is appreciated!

My thoughts...The calibration curve is made by running several different salt solution concentrations and taking readings from your device at each concentration. You then plot a curve of these numbers like an x,y graph. This allows a team to take a reading from their device and predict the salinity of a sample solution. Go to sonic.org and check information under B/C events and then click on water quality.
Hope this helps!

My understanding is that the calibration data is needed if (and only if) the device is of the digital kind.
Say, the salinometer is using 2 probes and connected to some circuitry.
That kind of device is usually require calibration curve or data to connect what the probes are measuring and the display.
