Good day, Coaches,

I'm in urgent need of a decent-quality Div C Remote Sensing test + Key
that has not been previously circulated and is not made by AI,
for a tournament at the end of November.

After 30 Nov, with my thanks, I can trade some other Div C event test(s).
If you can help, please email me directly.

Thank you,

Narayan S. Raja

Good morning all, a Division C Hovercraft question. We are looking at Hovercraft batteries.  It says up to 12V but a lot of rechargeable batteries say 12 V with a top out @ 12.6.  Is that out of range since there are variable V measurements for these batteries?? TIA,

Rule 3d: "Commercial batteries, including rechargeables, not exceeding 12.0V AS LABELED, may be used to energize...   "

Event supervisors should look at the label, not a voltage reading. If the label has two numbers and one is above 12.0 I would choose not to use them for my team.

I believe its calculated based on the label, not on a voltmeter measurement. Here is a recent rules clarification: (https://www.soinc.org/hovercraft-div-c)

Hovercraft C
(Section: 3 / Line: 1)

Question:
National Clarification: 12v batteries sold at shop and online with 12v
labelled are actually higher than 12v when charged (10 cells * 1.2=12v
since each cell is 1.2v nominal, but often 1.4-1.5v when charged).
Commercially labelled 12v nimh packs are allowed right in this...

Response:
Per rule 3d, the ES is to calculate voltages based on the manufacturer’s
original labels on the batteries.
