Hi Coaches,

 ⁠Regional questions: Can #2 pencil be tied to the strings before hand as a part of the apparatus and brought to the location, its given in instruction that pencil and eraser will be provided at the location.

Are kids expected to tie the pencil on the location when it is given?

And how is elevation tested?

A strict reading of the rules 3f, says that they must design it to be triggered by a pencil provided by the event supervisor. I would design it that way.  Maybe just put a loop in your string which your pencil can go through? Or a self tightening loop of some sort? Saves the whole tying business.
