Wanted to share this to other coaches, educators, and parents who can relate to this.
Here’s one of the answers we ran across that I wanted to share to remind us why we’re all doing what we’re doing. Thank you for all you do for your kids and young scientists!
I know SciOly can get to be a pressure cooker especially at the upper competitive levels but there’s a moment when the kids are so young and don’t know anything they get the spark to learn science. They have no idea but they are trying and having fun. If they have fun then they’ll continue to learn and grow, that’s what it’s all about.
Here’s an answer in a ExpD test that I thought was so cute to show the innocence of kids. You can tell they really don’t know but are really trying and having lots of fun.
Context: we’ll do satellites as a way to expose kids to all the events and science, so these kids just dropped in to see what it’s about. Yes it’s what you expect to read from little kids (elementary), before they all grow up - which happens fast! 😁.
They’ll learn how to improve for next time but I know they really enjoyed it and hey it’s zero points but still a “W” (as the kids say) in my books 😁.
I know we all sometimes get so into it, we lose sight why we’re all doing it. I try to remind all kids AND parents remember to have fun but forget to tell that to ourselves too 🤩 .
Enjoy!
Best of luck this season!!!
