The speaker for May 5th is Dr. Jeffrey Meyer, who be talking on the History of Mathematics.
Here is the abstract:
Dr. Jeffrey Meyer will present some of the most influential mathematicians and mathematical ideas that helped build mathematics into what it is today. Along the way, he will mention some of the most famous and influential problems which suprred the development of mathematics, including understanding gravity and heat, the Bridges of Konigsberg, the solution of a quintic polynomial, and Fermat's Last Theorem.
