Perspectives of Architectural Endoscopy
First Announcement and Call for Papers
Department for Spatial Simulation (Full-Scale Lab)
Vienna University of Technology / Austria
The 2nd EAEA-Conference '95 is organized on behalf of European Association
for Endoscopy in Architecture. The main object of the biannual
EAEA-Conference is to create a platform for an exchange of ideas and
further cooperation on the field of Endoscopy. The general preoccupation of
the 2nd conference is a critical investigation of the role of Endoscopy
related to other simulation techniques in architecture with a focus on
three themes major topics:
- SPACESCAPES: The Re-Design of Spatial Experience
- HIGH TECH & LOW COST: The Choice of Appropriate Technology
- THE NEXT GENERATION: The Implementation of Applications
The official conference language will be English. An exhibition of hardware
related to Endoscopy is planned. The 1st EAEA-Conference with participants
from all over the world took place in 1993 at Tampere University of
Technology in Finland and focussed on Endoscopy as a working tool within
the development of an architectural project.

Presumably, endoscopy requires the use of an endoscope. My Digital Webster
defines "endoscope" as:
en do scope \'en-de-,sko p\ n
[ISV]
(1861)
:an instrument for visualizing the interior of a hollow organ (as the
rectum or urethra)
en dos co py \en-'da s-ke-pe \ n
Now, and please forgive me, but exactly what sort of Spatial Experiences
are these guys talking about? The mind reels...
