COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND

Pharmacokinetics Research Laboratory within the Department of Biomedical
and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Rhode Island invites
applications for a postdoctoral research associate. Influence of
diabetes mellitus on drug metabolism and disposition is a major emphasis
in this laboratory with other projects including characterization of ADME
of immunosuppressive agents, anti-cancer agents, and lipid lowering
medications. The laboratory is supported by grants from various
non-profit organizations and pharmaceutical industry and current
personnel comprise of one postdoctoral research associate and five PhD
students. The research will involve characterization of expression and
regulation of drug metabolizing enzymes as well as clinical studies in
pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD). Training in PKPD
modeling will be provided to suitable candidates. Highly motivated
individuals with exceptional record of academic achievement as evidenced
by published manuscripts and a PhD in drug metabolism, toxicology,
pharmaceutical sciences or immunology are encouraged to apply. Good oral
and verbal communications in English is essential and prior hands-on
experience with mass spectrometry, molecular biology methods or
immunology would be of great advantage. The position is available
