I tend to believe the Russians here. If their spy
sats had been cut off there'd be a general panic
that would be obvious to informed observers.

Not a peep of that from anyone.

The hacks might have temporarily disrupted a channel
or two - but that's all. Good try, but Russia seems
to have the best hacks - and COUNTER-hacks - on the
planet ... all with govt funding.

On the whole, this failure was probably a good thing.
If their vision was suddenly cut off it might have
been interpreted as a sign to launch all the nukes NOW.
When you don't know what's going on, you assume the worst.

The PLUS side ... it showed Russia that it's NOT the only
cyberforce that can do anything.

Now for "less military" Roscosmos affairs, the systems
may have been less protected. They may have stalled the
petty stuff for awhile.

Oh, a good question - SHOULD THE ISS BE ABANDONED FOR
THE DURATION ? The politics are bad, the means of getting
to and from the station are vulnerable to hacks (or even
military lasers and sat-killers). Supplies could be cut
off any time. Internal systems could be disabled at any
time (including the escape capsules). In short it may
no longer be SAFE on the ISS. The Russians WOULD mess
around. The USA MIGHT mess around. Indeed the Chinese
MIGHT mess around just to cause a divisive "incident"
to hurt both its competitors.

My vote, put it on automatic as much as possible, boost
it to a slightly higher orbit if possible, and LEAVE.
Might be a year or two - or if Russia gets an itchy
trigger-finger, 1000+ years.
