Elon Musk has donated his StarLink assets to
hurricane-blasted Florida.
Base stations to use his satellite network to
facilitate wi-fi and telephone communications
are on the way. The existing comm systems in
SW Florida are destroyed and nobody can
contact anybody without owning a satellite
dish (and having electricity to run it).
Musk did the same for Ukraine after it was attacked.
Thank you Mr. Musk.
In other Musk news ... he has offered NASA a practical
means to save the Hubble telescope - which is in a
decaying orbit. Basically a robot craft will attach
itself to Hubble and boost its orbit. TAKE the offer
NASA.
A robotic 'handyman' that can actually FIX problems
with Hubble (or even Webb) seems possible. Draw
up the plans. No more "We can't do anything" BS
involving important multi-gigabuck assets.
