Are there any spacecraft heat transfer types out there? I would like
to put together a list of practicioners so we can exchange ideas,
problems, etc. Perhaps not as formal as a mailing list (there probably
aren't enough TRASYS users in the world to raise the votes to create
a newsgroup) but it would be useful to have someone else to talk to when
things don't work like the manual says they should.

Please e-mail even if you feel the need to post.

Perry:

I've always wanted to start a newsgroup devoted to thermal/fluid
analysis tools such as SINDA and TRASYS, but being a supplier of those
codes it sounds too self serving. (That and I'm not quite sure how to
start a legit group!) But I really think the community needs a forum to
discuss developments, share tricks of the trade, develop wish lists, etc.

About a year ago several folks tried to get up enough interest to start a
sci.engr.thermal or somesuch official group, but it died on the vine.
Perhaps an alt.* group would suffice,
although many folks don't receive those at their sites.

Maybe a LISTSERV group? I really don't like those: too intrusive. But if
there is much demand, perhaps we could start one.

Regards,

Brent

PS: We're working hard on an AutoCAD-based alternative to TRASYS called
RadCAD. It is being distributed without charge (contact Cindy Beer at
cb...@netcom.com if interested). With a little luck, there will be even
fewer TRASYS sufferers soon!
