In the 60ies, NASA conducted a number of Tests on Radio wave propagation
during reentry conditions.
This program called RAM (Radio attenuation Measurements) was divided in
three series - A, B and C.
On the A series i have no information, the B-Series used a modified 3
stage Blue-Scou-Junior launch
vehicle and C used a Scout.

RAM-B WI F 21. 9.62 RAM B1 *
RAM-B WI 28. 6.63 RAM-B2 *
RAM-B WI 10. 4.64 RAM-B3 *
Scout-B WI 19.10.67 RAM C1 *
Scout-B WI 22. 8.68 RAM C2 *
Scout-B WI 30. 9.70 RAM C3 *

Does any one know, which launch vehicle was used for the A series, and
does anyone have the launch dates.
Other info on the RAM program would also be interesting (the only one i
have, is from Pete Always
Rocket book).

NASA Technical Note D-1611 covers the RAM A-1. The first stage was a Castor
XM33E3 motor with two Recruit XM19 motors attached. The second and third
stages were XM-45 motors, 15" (381 mm) in diameter. The fourth stage was
another recruit.

It was a very long, skinny thing, 31" (787 mm) in diameter at the base and 784"
(19.9 m) long.
