REQUEST: literature on portrait painting

I am writing an article about portrait painters and the tendency to
show more of the left than the right cheek. I have several articles,
including Humphrey & McManus, New Scientist, 1973, but nothing more
recent than 1979. I would be very grateful for any references to more
recent literature.
