I'm looking into starting part time study with the Open University, with
the hope of gaining a Psychology degree. Their degree award meets the
requirements for a Graduate Basis for Registration of the British
Psychological Society.
Is the Open University a good university to study Psychology? Is this
particular award well regarded?
I have had experience with the OU in the past, and found them excellent.
They were recently ranked 11th best in an assessment of British
universities.
Further down the line, I hope to start full time postgraduate
study/research with a University in Ireland.
Thanks in advance to those who reply,
Mark Nolan
I would recommend posting this question to alt.education.distance where
there are several people who are expert in the field and who can give you
the kind of answer you are looking for. You might also want to use deja.com
and do a search on "open university" to see if there were any previous
conversations regarding the university in general.
Just a thought ...

Hi Folks -
if it meets BPS standards it should be OK. Is there some way
you can find a few graduates of the program to talk to? Or if you are
planning on going into clinical psych , try talking to a few clinical
psychologists and see what they have to say.
Best wishes,
Kent.
