Some patients are locked up in their own world and to enter in their
life-world and interact with them, the therapist mimics their
gestures.
I've read this long ago but can't find back documents about it, please
some references!

I think the term you are looking for is "mirroring." NLP (Neuro
Linguistic Programming) makes quite a point of this.
