A wood block, 1 lb., sits on a table. Attached is a cord,
which overhangs the edge of the table, with a hook at the end.
A frictionless surface, as usual.
I) A 1 lb. force of unstated origin - a 'pure force', so to
speak - pulls the cord, downward.
II) An identical 1 lb. block hangs from the cord.
What is the table block's acceleration, in each case?
