Is it possible that dark matter could be normal matter in higher dimensions - which might make it undetectable to us?

No. If it existed in "higher dimensions," whatever that actually means,
then it would not be normal matter.

Thank you for your reply. By higher dimensions, I meant > 3 as required by string theory. Doesn't string theory rely on matter or particles to exist in more than 3 dimensions? If so, isn't it possible that in those dimensions, it has a gravitational effect like what which they are attributing to dark matter? If you use string theory math, will you find that the extra dimensions does not hold any mass and no gravity?

Sylvia, dark matter is itself a fraud because the "big Bang" is the
biggest mistake in modern physics. Without that the "dark matter" slight
of hand disappears. The real question is what are the consequences of
"higher dimensions"? They are amazing and important and will be the
basis or 21 century science. So much of what today's so-called science
denies will be explained.

Here is some wobbly writing on mine on the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy mailing
list (for Sarah McLachlan fans) late on January 5, 1995, during waxing
crescent moon:

"Ore, the sun is like the small bright flame at the top of a tall dark candle
much of which has little effect on local gravity but much effect at large
distances, and I bet effect on local gravidity. So the sun is locally
sensitive, but the true power lies in accessing the hidden dark G-string with
the proper resonances. This may be related to singing to the standing stones
of the orkney isles, in that perhaps ancient lovers used such aural
resonances to get their lovers to come, as in the Loreena McKennitt song
(about pierced basal chakras? batteries included? no, w2rong, later).”

"dark energy" is entropy. "dark matter" is vacuum energy.

String theory is random;
you could use it to predict "The Flying Spaghetti Monster",
if you were so inclined.

Hello DHJ, Yes, it is possible.
Higher dimensions are smaller than 3D space.
The Number Line is the ultimate fact: 1, 2, 3, 4...
In our 4D space the number line of higher dimensions
might be listed in order from lowest to
highest dimension:

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8

1 t
2 x
3 y
4 z
5 th
6 hx
7 hy
8 hz

1 time from matter
2 x space into matter
3 y space into matter
4 z space into matter
5 magnetime
6 x electromagnetic space
7 y electromagnetic space
8 z electromagnetic space
Dark matter is ordinary matter with no electrons.
Dark energy is electrons fleeing dark matter at .999c
