A quick question, if you don't mind. Is area in the Minkowski plane, or
volume in Minkowski space, invariant under the Lorentz transformation?

As far as I could understand through the haze of my ignorance, the length of
spacetime intervals are preserved and I think area/volume is preserved with
a Lorentz boost, but does that hold for rotations too?
=====================================================

http://www.fourmilab.ch/etexts/einstein/specrel/www/figures/img53.gif

tau = t * sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)
xi = (x-vt) / sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)
eta = y
zeta = z

Since eta = y and zeta = z no boost can exist sideways or up.

Missing is
tau_y = t_y * sqrt( 1-u^2/c^2)
tau_z = t_z * sqrt( 1-w^2/c^2)

If we had three time dimensions instead of just one it might be possible to
have a rotation such that area and volume could be preserved in 4D
spacetime, but unfortunately the imbeciles Einstein, Lorentz and Minkowski
in their glorious fuckwittery didn't say if their horses were pulling their
carts crabwise down Fifth Avenue or skidding sideways up Broadway, because
tau only transforms from t in the x-direction. You need six dimensional
spacetime to be a real fucking idio...err... theoretical physicist.

Stop lying. No, you did not get it. You are someone easily persuaded
to allow someone else to think for you. Tom’s comments are all
handwaving. You need to challenge him to prove his claim in supported
mathematics. And your attitude is exactly how self-styled physicists
are able to continue preaching their bullshit. <shrug>

Under GR, any segment of spacetime is invariant. However, the so-
called volume created by each sub-component of spacetime is certainly
not so. However, this has no applicability in the religion of
spacetime known as SR and GR. <shrug>

KW: "No, you do NOT get it. You are not ALLOWED to get it. Koobee Wublee
must get it before you, and no one has been able to show Koobee Wublee
to His satisfaction so that Koobee Wublee can get it. But no matter,
because Koobee Wublee gets it anyway. In fact, Koobee Wublee *alone*
gets it in all the world, because Koobee Wublee is a former Engineer
from a Prestigious Place and has earned the right to refer to Himself in
capitalized third-person pronouns. He alone understands the gibberish
that is SR and GR, and He alone recognizes it as gibberish, and He alone
is capable of following the supporting mathematics of the gibberish."

And you talking to him by addressing a 3rd person into discussion which is
not there, lol

It is clear though that Fatso, who was employed
in a 3rd grade school as rest-room attendant
apprentice, got fired for loud-mouthing to the
School's Principal, & then Fatso drifted into the
Usenet to play some sort of a "Big Dog" to save
his self-esteem.... by loud-mouthing....

KW does a kind & Samaritan act when he addresses
Fatso in the third person and <shrugs> in his hope
that fired apprentice Fatso will not be afraid to show
his own "MATHEMATICS turned MATHEMAGICS"
to KW.

KW hopes to rescue, free & restore Fatso's disabled
mind. Fatso is currently institutionalized in 'Ward D"
whereat/in unfortunately Fatso still fanatically worships
Albert's sphincter in his fixed idea to be the Big Dog
amongst Einstein Dingleberries.

KW's therapy to rescue Einstein Dingleberries has
produced good results in others, but hardcore cases,
damaged goods, like Fatso, still carry on with their
religious belief, despite the fact that already 60 years
ago....
