I have now managed to put RF into the coil around the plasma tube with a
high voltage source ionizing the hydrogen.

There is only a slight difference in the appearance of the ionization glow
when the RF is turned on, it is slightly brighter. The tube did not get warm
so there was not enough power to initiate fusion or even heat the gas.

I do not think a lower pressure would help. In order to heat the coil a
great deal more power is needed. I think I need at least a KW.

The original idea was to use ten volts with low pressure and high current
and I think this would have worked if I knew what pressure to use. I now
estimate the pressure needed would be about 10-7 Tor.

The estimate of the pressure is based on the mean free path (m f p) (m f p)
x field strength=energy on collision in electron volts. The m f p is taken
from a table of m f p against pressure published on the web in Wikipedia.
