I put the tube with hydrogen at 3 Tor in my 850 watt microwave oven for ten
seconds yesterday. The hydrogen did not ionize and the tube did not get
warm.

Do not do this experiment indoors. Keep the microwave oven 6 feet
above the ground, higher if anyone is taller. Above the microwave
oven there is the potential of a power transmission cone.

I've thought about another way to do this experiment. But, it
includes sacrificing a microwave oven. Drill a 1.5 inch hole in the
top of the microwave oven and insert a 3 inch long 1.5 inch diameter
fused quartz tube into the hole in the microwave oven. Only allow for
a 0.25 inches of the quartz tube to stick out above the microwave
oven.

Disconnect the internal vent fan.

Bring a cup of water to a boil.

Make a stand to hold a match 0.25 inches away from the opening in the
fused quartz tube. Once, the water is boiling inside the microwave
oven, open the door, place the match on the stand and light it. Then
turn on the microwave oven.

But when I left it for forty seconds it did light up with a blue light and
the tube got very hot.
