I am a Physics student from Cologne, Germany.
It is my plan to spend a year abroad beginning this fall (I am just
limited to English languaged countries).
As I will have three years of my studies completed then it is time to
decide my specialisation, where I plan to choose Plasma Physics, as my
interest in Fusion had a very big influence in my decision to study
physics.
Can you recommend me Universities to apply? Do you know if they offer
the 'Plasma beginners courses' or a suitable course this fall? Do you
know if it will be possible to participate in research?

however are plasma physics are more applies to gaseous electronics than
to coliders and things of a purely theoretical nature.
If there is one specific area of plasma physics that interest you or
you are not sure what you wish to research, get the abstracts for these
conferences:
International Pulsed Power Conference
Megaguass
Transactions of the IEEE plasma physics
read thru these abstracts and find out specifically what sound
interesting and then try and contact people at those universities.
