Electric and Magnetic forces on a matched transmission line

Is it true that electric and magnetic forces are equal and opposite when
the source impedance of an AC source is equal to the characteristic
impedance of lossless transmission line and far-end load?

If true, is there a published proof for the general case?

It's true but I can't help you with a reference to a proof.

[of course it's fairly trivial, given that you talk about
a TEM mode where the E and B field essentially have the same
strength - in terms of energy density - and also the charge
and current on the conductor surfaces have the same shape.]
