I argue that we cannot really say this unless we commit ourselves to a
particular philosophical theory of mind. (e.g. mind = computational
state, irrespective of physical implementation) I cannot bring myself
to believe in this, but I think many people were interested in it
because it is so close to Buddhism and eastern mystics.
