Somebody told me once that philosopher Kant used to say:
abnehmen", what translated in English sounds like this:
"If a horse could say 'Ich' by itself, I would take my hat off to him".
('Ich' in German stands for 'I' or 'Me' in English and 'Ego' in Latin
respectively).
Can anyone give me a hint, where to prove if Emanuel Kant really used to say
something simile, or is this just another rumor about him.

Hello Luka,

Critique of Practical Reason: "Respect applies always to persons only-
not to things. The latter may arouse inclination, and if they are
animals (e.g., horses, dogs, etc.), even love or fear, like the sea, a
volcano, a beast of prey; but never respect."

that I am impressed?"
