Does anybody know of an on-line source for spectral transmission curves/data
for Kodak Wratten gelatin filters? I've found a few links to some data on a
limited set of those used for near-IR photography, and some on color
correction Wrttens, but nothing yet on other visible range filters. If so,
please e-mail URL/FTP address if possible to cr_ba...@pnl.gov. Thanks!

Not online, but:

Kodak Photographic Filters Handbook, Kodak 1990, ISBN 0-87985-658-0
available from Edmund Scientific catalog no. 07262

has all of the information you want.

The appropriate Kodak technical publication is definitely the best
source, but the information can also be found elsewhere. "The Handbook
of Chemistry and Physics" has listings for the transmission data for
all Kodak Wratten filters - this book may be easier to find if there
is a technical library in the vicinity. I dare say that other
reference works also may contain this information.

As an aside - the Kodak Technical publication series is an excellent
source for technical information. Of course, the main emphasis is on
Kodak products, but a lot of the information is also relevant for
general use. A good camera shop should be able to get hold of Kodak's
list of technical publications, and I would recommend a little
browsing in that catalog for anyone who is interested in the technical
aspects of photography. The publications are (relatively) cheap too.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I had hoped to get an on-line source because
of time constraints. The suggestions are good ones, but I had forgotten about
the CRB Handbook of Chem & Phys - Thanks Helge Nareid! That will do very
nicely, though on-line would have saved some time and effort.

Its good to see your posts again, In the USA you can get the
publications catalogue direct from Kodak by calling 800 242 2424.
I was unable to find anything about filters on the Kodak web site.
There is a lot of good stuff there but the organization leaves
something to be desired.
I heartily agree about Kodak publications.

Hi Chuck,

We have measurements of the filters lying inthe lab (in some directory)
somewhere. Will let you know if I find them.

Which filters are you taliking about. I know we've measured six
of them.

Kodak sells a bookfor $14.95 that has all of the spectral data from all
of the Wratten and all other Kodak filters. Transmission curves and
other information are provided for all. Book is called "Handbook of
Kodak Photographic Filters"
Published 1990. ISBN 0-87985-658-0 Kodak Publication B-3
It is a handy little book if you are trying to filter for something with
a known wavelength. Mark Walberg wal...@simmons.swmed.edu

Don't go typing, it has been done in the past already, for all filters AFAIK....:-))
