I have an extra Zemax EE key for sale. Zemax allows you to transfer a
license.
I have to get the exact date but I think this key is current through
May of 2003. $500 in support will bring it current.
I am looking for $2500.
You can either run the version it will run and save $1,000 on Zemax EE
or upgrade $500 and save $500. A new copy currently sells for $3500
email me if interested.
This is an intelligence test, right? I hope I passed.
Why would anyone want to spend anything like that amount of money on a
program so inferior to CODE-V which has not even been validated
against CODE-V ( ORA won't sell him a copy ). At least everything in
ENTERPRISE PRO has been validated against the industry leader CODE-V
or against some other independent source. We don't release anything
unless it has been independently validated.
Instead, for a one time price of $995.00 you can get ENTERPRISE PRO
(www.westcoastengineering.com) with no hardware key and life time
email user support and lifetime yearly upgrades and for an additional
$75.00/year you can get 7 day per week, 7 am to 7 pm PST, friendly
phone support from the author of the code (who knows exactly how and
why the program works and who premises never to tell you "it is in the
manual" and who will never steer you wrong with incorrect
information). BTY, the $75/year includes full source code to protect
your investment.
We will discuss blanket multi-user licenses and we do on-plant
training (quoted on a case by case basis).
At West Coast Engineering, we believe that no software should cost two
or three times the price of the machine it runs on. To pay that much
out of one's pocket, is stupid, stupid, stupid unless you are going
for the ultimate in optical design codes, CODE-V.
You will be able to run the ENTERPRISE PRO on multiple machines as the
license is sold to a person, not to a machine. You can try ENTERPRISE
by downloading the free version ENTERPRISE SE from the web site
listed above.
Transferring an Enterprise Pro license from one person to another is
also cheap, $100.00, one time, not $2500.00 for a key. :-) :-) :-)
At West Coast Engineering we don't do your optical desgn, we make your
optical design affordable.
Sincerely,
West Coast Engineering
I can always use my copy of ACCOS if I want to use Enterprise SE.

Enterprise is a Super set of ACCOS and HEXAGON but ACOSS is still way
prefereable to ZEMIN.
Please expand on this concept of software validation. You can not buy
a copy of CodeV you rent it. Did I get you right: 1. everything in
your software was validated by comparision to CodeV output. 2. Zemax
has not been compared to CodeV.
Has Zemax been compared to OSLO or something else?
Expand about CodeV not being willing to lease CodeV to Ken Moore.
Sincerely,
Don Janeczko
I have had access to CODE-V for testing Enterprise either directly or
through my beta testers.

Don't know. Email Ken Moore.

ORA reserves the right to refuse to lease CODE-V to its competition
including OSLO, ZEMAX and even to Breault Research Org because they
once marketed Synopsis. I agree with their policy.
I don't know if ORA would or would not lease CODE-V to me since I
don't lease it myself and won't because I can't come up with the
monthly lease payments. I use my money for more important things than
commercial optical design software. I use it to buy food, lodging and
toys for me and my wife. Important stuff like model airplanes, Leica
cameras, parts to restore my 32 year old VW Beetle etc. You know, the
stuff that helps make life interesting and fun.
Sincerely,
West Coast Engineering

I wouldn't pay $500US for it. You might try eBay; the people there
aren't quite as experienced as those here...

Anyway, key sold and everyone seems happy. It was nice to save
someone some $$$ on the code.
