I found this a tough task as well. It seems that everyone in the
optics industry loves to use this spec but hates to provide any
information on it, to the point that they flat out ignore you when
you ask the questions they don't want to answer. If I was you I
would use the ISO standard, not the MIL spec. If you pm me your
email address I can provide you some information that I have found.
This drawing is up to revision L but lots of companies use the
revision that suits their purposes - I even have a copy of the
drawing that has been marked-up by hand back to a previous revision
of the drawing. The scratch spec is very subjective and from what I
have found traceability is non-existant.
