Hi,

Anybody explain please?
I have some marks appearing on some of my camera lenses - these are on the
inside of the lens. They look like smudges - but can't be!
Is it the coating deteriating?

Cheers,
Ian

Fungus is possible but unlikely unless you live in a very humid
location. Another possibility is the migration of oils. If the metal
parts were not properly degreased during manufacture residual oils can
migrate onto the lens surfaces.

Assuming that you have not disassembled the lens yourself, I would send
it back to the manufacturer.

Several lenses or just one?
In addition to fungus or coating deterioration it could be the cement
between individual components.
