Hi
I am a process control engineer looking to expand my skills in
optimized scheduling of the operations at my plant. I am working in
fortran/VMS and Visual Basic/WinNT.
I am looking for an example of scheduling in any programming langage.
It need not be long or complex but must be able to point me in the
correct direction for further work. I have six machines with varying
path for the varying size products and tooling change restrictions.
From research on the web, I have found the opsresearch.com site and
Java classes but this site is short on examples. Book suggestions are
welcome. Scheduling FAQ is welcome also.
Thanks to all who reply.

Hi Stephane,
search the web for "job shop scheduling". Benchmarks can be found at
http://mscmga.ms.ic.ac.uk/jeb/orlib/info.html
If you understand a little bit german, you can also look at my PLT page at
http://www.tu-chemnitz.de/~luta/plt/index.html
and view the job shop, flow shop and open shop examples.
