OMG - whatever next ?
P.B.
More idiotic replies from you, I'm guessing.
Or more idiotic assertions from you ?
Planes *were not* grounded. Planes in flight over the USA and also certainly
transatlantic flights ( never heard about pacific flights ) were instructed
to land ASAP at some point. Down to the crew to select a suitable airport.
Halifax was very busy as a a result.
Where did you get the idea that military planes were included ?
P.B.
For trans-Atlantic flights, I believe Boston and Moncton came up with
the deviation plan. Gander, Newfoundland, a town of about 11,000 and
less than about one thirtieth the size of Slackers, had comparatively
more dropped on it. Gander has a small strip of hotels, but they
generally serve air cargo and aircraft ferry services. It's a real
eye-opener to suddenly find 747s and Airbuses on your doorstep.
Consequently, passengers wound up crashing out in school gyms and
church basements, or wherever townsfolk could billet them.
> Where did you get the idea that military planes were included ?
As I understood it, all non-essential military a/c missions, e.g.
training and routine transport, in both Canada and the U.S. were
ordered terminated or suspended by NORAD *after* the strikes on the
WTC and the Pentagon, i.e., after they had reason to believe there was
a terrorist action underway.

Yup, figures.
I heard something similar re: Halifax too. I believe it took a day or two to find
accomadation for the pax on some flights !
Doesn't bear thinking about what it must have been like in the plane !
I have a jpg of Halifax taken from above that shows one hell of an air park.
Anyone got one for Gander ?

That sounds sensible.
It's interesting to note just how long it must have taken for the *land order* to
disseminate.
I have an ATC recording re United 93 that has the controller using other traffic

Yeah ! Funny that Executive 956 and American 1060 didn't see those fighter

The FAA has said that it alerted military authorities in Colorado at the
first signs of a hijacking. Yet we know that a few aircraft were
scrambled and that all others were grounded and prohibited from reacting
according to standing procedures. One of my subscribers is friends with
an air traffic controller at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. His friend
confided to him that "he was on duty at the time of the crashes into the
towers. They got a phone call in between the first and second 'hit'. His
superior told him that 'NO take-off's were permitted ... NONE at all.'"
This was too early to be a direct result of shutting down all flights
nationwide--which only affected private and commercial flights--not
military. Here we have evidence of the US military acting in direct
opposition to national defense--acting on orders from above. These
orders couldn't have come from Bush, who was engaged at an elementary
school, so higher military officials were either taking orders from
someone else at the White House or acting on predetermined orders.
http://cjonline.com/stories/091201/kst_travelhalt.shtml
Not all military flights are being allowed in the air. Several Fort Riley
training flights scheduled to leave Forbes over the next few days have
been canceled by the military post, Stremming said. Across the United
States, he said, only military flights with specific missions were
allowed off the ground Tuesday.
Etc.

And this order prevented the launching of masses of C-141's, KC-10s
and KC-135s which would have then been able to... do what, exactly? You
are aware that McGuire AFB is an Air Mobility Command base, aren't you?
Given that McGuire AFB is located within 75 (driving) miles of the
site of the crash, and with the amount of traffic flowing through NY
airspace on any given day, stopping takeoffs until such time as the
situation could be assessed doesn't seem all that unwise- leadership
at McGuire could well have expected to be called on to provide
support and assistance for rescue/recovery operations in the near
future (or perhaps not- I'm not familiar with the disaster response
plans that the area has). This of course is presuming that this
heresay is at all true - 'a friend of a subscriber of yours' doesn't
exactly sound like a sworn deposition to me.

Well, duh. With the airspace closed for an air defense emergency,
military training sorties, and as noted all military flights without
a specific, necessary mission, (such as, for example, AWACS air
surveillance and fighter CAP) were cancelled. You seem to indicate
that you have a problem with this- perhaps you could explain what
you think ought to have been done instead?

NORAD was set up to defend US airspace from the ruskies. Their systems were
never designed to counter internal terrorism. That's why their radars point
out not in !

Ralphie boy said you cannot defend airspace from a threat because it has
never happened before.
You can't just shoot down civilian airliners. bwahahahahahah

He can sleep easier?
Why not? After intercept <snicker> there is proceeeeedure ralphieboy. When
the errant thought to be/known to be HJ AC would not respond to air
superiority the authorization was simple. I suppose you want to claim that
"no one had any idea" <cough> and that this was anything but the traditional
"take me to Guantanamo Bay" even though someone aboard stated that they were
going to return to BOS and yet started following the Hudson. And the evil
doers even stated they had bombs on board. Oh my, flying bombs just as we
were being told and hearing for ourselves. Bwahahahahah.
Yes, few people are sacrificed for many all the time. Someone got to make
the tough decisions ralphie boy <sobbing>. Think of the money we as a nation
would have saved if we only had to pay off the family members of these few
in contrast to the many now getting compensation. Think of all those nice
buildings that wouldn't have been damaged needing clean up at staggering
costs. Oh ralphie boy, such a dim cunt of bulb you are.
One of my favorite coincidence theory debunking sites.
So graham explain how much of the continental USA can NORAD Monitor? I ask
because you seem to be suggesting that NORAD radar's are located on shore
looking outward having no capabilities of functioning within the continental
USA.

Why didn't the buildings across the street receive equal damage?
Why all the reports of other bombs?

Because there weren't any buildings across the street. It was a
parking lot. The next closest building, a parking structure down the
street a bit from the truck bomb location was pretty much devastated.
Not to mention the damage to the Water Resources building and the
Journal Record Building.
>Why all the reports of other bombs?
There were 3 IIRC, all of which turned out not to be true. When one
is crawling through a bombed out building and runs across something
that looks like a bomb, the safe bet is to assume it is a bomb until
proven otherwise. In all cases at the Murrah building, these reports
turned out to be false.

Red Herring.
One of these videos:

(9/11 - The Road to Tyranny?) has a TON of footage proving you are a

Hey, you're the genius at finding stuff on the internet. You just
said in another thread:
"Heh. You can't locate famous photos. You are in no position to call
anyone stupid..."
However, most of the better pictures have long since been taken down,
but there are a few left. Here's one looking out on the parking lot
from inside the Murrah building (it's the third one down):
http://photos.newsok.com/bombing/
Also the 26th photo in the presentation shows the parking lot.

Equivalent damage on both sides of the street?

Debris flying OUTWARD from the Murrah building means the bomb was
internal to the building, Kris...
Please think about that.

Why would concrete fly outward due to to a truck bomb, Kris?

But no equivalent damage across the street...?

The only cite you can find costs money to read?

So it was strong enough to blow apart concrete columns from a distance,
but it didn't do the same thing across the street?

You do know you can't easily mix diesel and fertilizer, and even if you
could, it wouldn't do anywhere near that much damage, don't you?
