I'm rather skeptical; but gives more rationale for taking matters from
the two major Med powers, if those talks, as I can reasonably expect
from the list of partecipants, ends in nothing...

I don't know Italy currently has a ruling party...

jokes aside, the local consensus on predicting the outcome,is that the
Navy will ask as compensation (and obtain at least the first six) those
3,500+ tons "corvettoni" (large corvettes, that is, the *actual*
replacement for the Lupos & Maestrales) and unofficially... what I dub
the "Cuniberti plan" (I must point that, Italian Navy, in a move
opposite the general worldwide trend, has reactivated her Naval
shipdesign bureau)
