But, as various people have been attributed
to saying - including Lenin and Stalin -
"quantity has a quality all of its own".

In short, it doesn't matter if Chinese arms
are grade-B ... if they're cheap enough you
can buy huge quantities of them.

I see China has threatened to nuke Japan if it
dares to get in the middle of its totalitarian
plans for Taiwan.

I really hope Trump sold Taiwan a bunch of our
old nukes .....

And Japan - don't tell me they haven't quietly
built up their own little inventory. They have
lots of nuclear power reactors - just need a
special little box that's not on the blueprints
to breed lots of plutonium. With the physics sims
these days you don't even have to test a design
to know it'll work. Besides, this is 1940s/50s
tech. If crappy little NK can build fusion-boosted
weapons then anyone can. 250kt can make a hell
of a mess.

Oh, Iran, Russia's buddy, is perfectly capable
too. KNOW they have nukes by now, and they DO
have missiles capable of hitting anywhere in
europe and beyond.

However the bigger picture is that things are
getting BAD again, like the height of the old
cold war. Lots of itchy fingers on the triggers.
Increasingly amoral and un-circumspect perspectives.
China has come up FAST and Russia seems to be
back in the running again too - new hypersonic
cruise missiles and a competitor for the F-35
and increasing intrusions into NATO territory.
It's 1963 all over again and I don't see any
backchannel people to save us.

They smell weakness, disorder, conflicts,
doubt, in the West and are eager to take
advantage. They see nothing wrong with
"imperialism". Grab, enslave, SQUEEZE.

The Brits are re-implementing an old cold-war
strategy, where their military air assets are
randomly scrambled to random locations. Thwarts
pinpoint attacks on military assets - but that
just means you nuke the entire island with
fallout-enhanced warheads .......

Think the USA is horrible ? Just wait and see
what the competitors are like .. think "Huns"
and "Mongols" and you'll be underestimating.
